Hi guys,

It's been two months I'm having the same problem. Can't login while it's peak hours in my country (ie : nights and week ends). Mornings are fine, usually i log in fast. I've checked my ping with eqemulator.net. Either nights or mornings I get the same value : an average of 270ms. While I can't login i usually access the server select, enter the character select, and the game freeze when i hit enter world. So where is the problem ? Can I improve something there to login when i want? It's extremly frustrating... [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you're trying to troubleshoot a server login issue at different hours of the day, then you need to run traceroute on the server that hosts p1999, not just eqemulator.net (my apology if they're actually one and the same, I'm not sure that they aren't). It could be that your traffic is being routed differently in the evening than in the morning.

Alternatively, it may be that it's just high network loads at peak time in your country that's causing the world load to freeze up, or the freeze may be hardware-related and it just seems to be a network issue. Are you getting booted back to the character screen or is the whole program freezing and you have to terminate EQ? If the former, it may be a network issue; if the latter it's almost certainly an issue with your game/OS/hardware.

i didnt have any problems earlier, but since i crashed like 15mins ago in eruds crossing (on the boat while zoning into eruds) i cant login with any char, my internet connection seems to disconnect after either when i try to reach the login server screen, or after the character select. Wonder if thats the same problem?

9am, saturday, the traceroute on 67.23.190.71:5998 says :

"In general this route is reasonably quick, with hops responding on average within 162ms. However, all hops after hop 9 in network 'Hurricane Electric, Inc.' respond particularly slowly." I can login and play fine. 6pm, saturday, the traceroute on 67.23.190.71:5998 says: "In general this route is reasonably quick, with hops responding on average within 116ms. However, all hops after hop 9 in network 'Hurricane Electric, Inc.', respond particularly slowly." I can't login... Any ideas? And yes, I did login at 9am, play a few minutes, then left the game running (i was in butcherblock in a safe place) and when I came back at 5pm, the game was back at the login screen ) I got disconnected huh around 5pm i guess, or maybe earlier. Anyway i don't understand. Too much traffic in my island when night falls down? But my speed on most downloads is fine, so what? !! Firewall settings? Different route at night? Any suggestion appreciated, thanks !

Well ok, I should have checked that this morning. I'll do it tomorow. But if i see they use differents routes, one for the morning, another for the night, could I do something to connect properly the night?

Hmm, Im tempted to say what they did for eqemulator.net would only work for the log in server.

Good chance this server is on a different host that eqemulator.com

Same route nights and mornings. Exactly the same hops, same latency, etc...

I also think P99 is on a different host. But I can't find its IP really... But I'm sure if my ISP give another priority to P99's IP it will work... Thanks for advice.
