I've noticed that everything in the fort agros through walls. Walking into the Oracle room agros the chief room from above, and straying to close to the fort from outside while uninvis will also train the whole room onto you.

Pretty much every outdoor zone, that wasn't considered a dungeon, didn't require LOS for aggro.

I believe it still works this way on eqlive.

While I can't confirm if this is expected behavior or not, it sounds to me like this is along the same principle as being eaten by a griffon while sitting inside an inn in the Commonlands.
