Default Optimum/Maximum Requirements.

My laptop died a while ago. I didn't want to buy a new one till I got a job.

I now have a job. I need a new laptop.

The only real game im going to play on it is EQ99.

Otherwise will just use it for Facebook, Youtube and Spotify and Deoxys.

So my question is:

What are the Optimum playing requirements for 99?

And will performance increase as your specs increase? If yes does it ever cap off? Like is there a maximum specs your comp could have were EQ just wont run any better?

I want to spend just enough to get the specs for the best running project 99.

What specs would that be?

Hope this makes sense,

thanks a lot,

- Toby (Tobius in game)

You can go pretty low if you're just playing P99. Whatever you do, get a laptop with a real video card: DO NOT GET SOMETHING INTEGRATED. ATI/Nvidia. Other then that, get something with an i3-i5-i7 or core 2 duo. Most laptops comes with 2 gigs+ memory these days.

Keep in mind that a lot of bugs within the game are turning up to be related to high FPS. So if all you're going to be playing on it is eq, you're just going to have to throttle the performance anyway.

Default Hmm

I dunno my bro has a pretty high tech PC, probably more high tech then I can afford with my approximate 250 quid budget.

And with EQ2windows free edition it works totally fine.

So if his comp isnt "too good" then mine deffo wont be.

Thanks for the help so far?

So avoid intergrated graphics?

Any other general spec advice?

Im pretty much a layman on the hardware side of computer stuff.

Cheers,

- Toby

P.S my dads looking on http://www.europc.co.uk/ I said I would let him know EQ requirements, so keep the advice rolling in.

Friend of mine is playing on a netbook.

There's an old thread around here where someone got it running on an I-phone or something...wasn't playable because of framerate iirc, but still.

Requirements are pretty low, lol.

I play on my work lappy, which is core 2, 2gb of ram with integrated gfx.

Lets just say I have significantly less problems with it then I do with my desktop which is high end...

I really think you could run it on pretty much anything newish, but to be safe get at least a dual core, 2gb of ram and a non integrated gfx and you should be safe.
