Default Error 1017

"Any connect to server. May need to rerun Update Patch. Repeatedly seeing this indicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server."

After I select server, I crash back to username/pword login.

Any ideas?

If you are trying to roll on red, roll on blue first.

If not, overclocking is a common problem (CPU or video card):

This doesn't make much sense to me but I have solved the issue.
My motherboard's BLCK speed (FSB) was overclocked to 205 MHZ. I reduced to speed to the standard clock rate (200MHz) and the game connects now. When I change the clock rate back up, it fails to connect. I'm not sure why this would affect anyone's ability to connect to EQ, but there you go. That's the solution.

Would also like to note that I also have my core multiplier, ram rates, and gpu overclocked as well.

The only thing that causes this in my system is the BLCK/FSB overclocked to any degree.
