I just came across the P99 server yesterday, while looking for some kind of "real" way to play EQ again. Yep, this is the place! I love the server and this project, it feels like the beginning all over again, which apparently is the purpose of this server so...job well done!
Had a great time spending my first 3 hours online last night in GFAY getting my Bard up to level 3! I also met some nice folks last night right off the bat. Being 100% new (again) of course I was doing my all just to come up with some rusty gear and money for my new songs, when all the sudden a friendly little dwarf came up to me and handed over some fine ring mail as a friendly donation...how refreshing! He said the pieces I couldn't wear I could sell, so I picked up a few plat at the vendor and was able to get some backpacks, songs and food and water. I was pleasantly surprised by the population last night, for some reason I expected to be in a ghost town at low level but there were 30ish people on last night in GFAY so I guess grouping shouldn't be a problem for the most part which is nice.
At any rate, having a blast and looking forward to the journey all over again. Cheers and see you in Norrath.
