Default How close is P99 to classic EQ?

Just curious, I can tell from face value it's relatively close.

My question is, numbers such as pet HP, pet damage, mob HP, mob damage, chance to hit, miss, etc.

How closely are these replicated? Was this something that could be found or did the devs have to give their best guesses?

I'd say it's as close to classic over anything else that exists out there.

Patches are still coming in that fine tunes the game to make it more classic.

However, Rogean has flatly stated that unClassical Variance of raid mobs will never be removed. It is something that has been completely destroying the server in the high end game. I would be very wary of getting into this server thinking that it will be Classic and open raiding at the high end. To this day, there has not been a reasonable explanation for this.
The explanation is that when there wasn't variance, GMs had to be online at the time of mob spawn to handle every single raid dispute. With variance, it alleviated the problem.

"You call our situation good!"

No, but the situation as it was before variance made it so a guild could have all mobs on lockdown easier. Now we see a guild like TMO dominate, but back in the day there were 3 or 4 guilds all of the same or equal power. Variance made it so the GMs didn't rage quit each month.

Rogean made a better answer in the last mega variance thread. I'm too lazy to look for it, but that was the gist of it.

Not having 15 servers that people can switch to and from isn't classic.

40 thousand subscribers would be needed

Thus the proposed FTE Shout. Like, are you paying any attention whatsoever?

I can fairly guarantee that whatever Rogean said is 100% bullshit, because Variance is basically the worst thing that has ever happened to this server. That assertion is extremely easy to prove... just look at simulated patch days, where other guilds are FINALLY able to earn kills outside of this arbitrary system that seems custom made to allow a single guild to dominate.
btw, your opinions will be much better received if you are able to present them in a cordial manner. Like, do you get discussions at all whatsoever?

If you didn't play when variance wasn't instituted, I understand how you wouldn't realize how it was an improvement on past situations. There is room for improvement, but that is only achieved by instituting more non-classic changes. Which was your opening statement against variance, it being non-classic. Thus, any changes to the raid scene to make it better will be non-classic.

So in summation? Variance may be non-classic, but that's because using a classic raid scene wasn't sustainable. They've stated they are working on newer solutions to the raid scene that would alleviate variance.

Oh, and I was letting you know why variance was put into place, not defending it you dickweed.

Rogean is unwilling to change it for some nebulous and expansive purpose that he has yet to adequately explain without it sounding like an excuse to continue the apparent RMT that absolutely seems to be the purpose of the code.
I'm sure Rogean just crapped himself reading that, you're onto him... he'll be working 24/7 until the variance is dropped and will give the server 5x XP to keep us all playing. Excellent post, excellent...
