played a little bit of many games. All four editions of D&D at some point (our DM preferred first over anything else after it, and when I played third was the new one). Deadlands. the DM's own custom game which was bad ass and sci fi.

Currently GM a GURPS game when I get the chance.

Why is this in R&F? because the asshats of the forum are going to come harass us? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] this IS pretty much the WORST forum I've been on lately for douchebaggery, but still.

Yep, been playing since the mid 80's. Still have a pretty sizeable collection of books also though i stopped keeping up post 3rd edition. I always was a 2nd edition guy.
I miss spelljammer....
My current mousepad is my original Monster manual, 1977.

I actually own a 100-sided die.

Funny enough it came from a National Geographic board game but I used to use it when playing White Wolf stuff back in the day.

I DM a weekly DnD 4e session. The sessions have been going on for ~ 5 years now. Started with Age of Worms (DnD 3.5) and when we fnished that entire campaign we switched to 4e and I've been running a converted Temple of Elemental Evil -> Against the Giants campaign.

We play using Fantasy Grounds virtual tabletop software and Ventrillo.

Fantasy Grounds is really pretty good. I have used it and Vent for 3.5E sessions a few times. We are really picky about who we game with, so we usually just wait to play when people are in town, or use Fantasy Grounds.

Reeeeealy? Tell me more. Ive gotten out of gaming because of travel time and whatnot, ive been looking at their website and it looks interesting.
How easy is it to find groups at large who 1. dont suck and RP like 14 year olds 2. use this software?

Well, I really have never tried to find a group besides the core group that I've played with over the last 11 years or so. We started in high school and only play maybe 8 times per year or so, but I absolutely recommend buying the FG software. If you are DMing, you'll have to do a good bit more prep work at first, but if you get into it, you will start to find a lot of shortcuts. You can import almost anything you want when it comes to rule books and maps, etc. We play 3.5E because we think its already as close as we want to perfection. I just don't see the big deal with 4th edition, but there are probably books to import for that, as well.
