No longer drops, allows you to do great DPS as an int caster along with Tola Robe or CoF.

it was the first kunark item removed. I think its a decent tool for necros, but "great dps" is being generous. the melee skill cap for casters is pretty limiting. I think more than anything it is a very cool item, a 60/40 weapon for casters!

I think I remember someone parsing it saying RoA + Tola Robe + str build + necro pet approximated the DPS of a low 50s rogue. This was prior to epics, though. (and I haven't done the parses myself, nor do I own an RoA)

one of the lockets is sold, the other is still available, the point of having them is so that you can melee bind in plane of mischief once velious comes out

Mages and Enchanters have almost nothing else to do during a raid against resistant mobs too. It's just more dps for your side. Not to mention the wonderful things you can do with it for exping necro or twinking any INT caster.
