Default Oculys Ogrefiend

This is for the Mountains of Rathe zone. Oculys Ogrefiend does not spawn at all it seems (unless this has changed within the last couple of months, I have not logged on much recently) but from September 2012 through December 2012 I never saw him once and I spent countless hours in Rathe Mnts. I am a primary source (if secondary sources are needed I will deliver them here) and I remember him spawning very rarely on the hill with the bandits located near the Lake Rathe zone, and he would drop 1 random piece of Totemic armor.

I noticed in the Patch Notes 12/18/09 (http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ghlight=Oculys) that he was removed. Does anyone know why? This is a mystery that has haunted me for a while. Thanks.

According to this other report, looks like he might make a comeback post-Velious.

Ok, thanks for digging this up. I have to ask, why post-Velious? I quit Live EQ in September 2001 and never played since then, and I remember killing Oculys a few times many months before that date.

Oculys should be here now, since we are in the Kunark era, and that post you linked showed nilbog with some secondary sources saying he was around in 2001.

I don't know why they came to that conclusion. The page on Allah has post dating back to June of 2000 mentioning totemic drops http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/n...?id=3607#m9871

Very good, with your link Oculys seems to be referenced as far back as March, 2000 (towards the bottom). Also, with Ele's link, that leads us to http://web.archive.org/web/200104240....shtml?id=3607
which uses the wayback machine to a screenshot of the website during April 24th, 2001 which also shares the comments which reference back to March 31st, 2000 (which may be unclear because the post on the wayback machine doesn't show the year like kalerans link does).

Alright then, perhaps he was mentioned here on P99 prior to Kunark and it was under debate (as seen in Ele's link), but now with Kunark being here we can't debate him anymore.

If anyone finds more evidence, please bring it here!

Fixed, pending update.

-You may rarely encounter Oculys in Rathe Mountains.
