Turns out my avast thinks my .dll file is a virus I have tried to restore the .dll files and redownload the patch from EQemu however it is still giving me the error, any suggestions ?

Same issue. I've had to turn off my avast shields to play on p99, kinda lame.

There's a thread about this. You have to update AVAST if it is not updated, then you have to do an exclusion.

I'm no expert and cannot explain how I did it, but I think what I did was this order.

Updated AVAST.
Went under exclusions and put a check mark by Everquest
Went into virus vault and right clicked the DSETUP.DLL file and clicked restore.

It started working. I cannot remember if I did anything else. But, if you read the other thread, you might get an idea of what to do without turning off AVAST.
