Default Chanter pets ignoring mes

Chanter pets is completely ignoring mesmerize spells, and keeps ganking messed targets. On some rare ocassions they do keep them alone, but if pet was already agro to a mob, its futile to try to mes it

With this patch we've made some rather sweeping changes to the way pets work.
Pets will not attack mesmerized creatures. Pets basically treat mesmerized NPCs as if they were dead.
Pets are neutral to NPCs. Monsters will not attack pets first unless the pet is being aggressive to something.

Hmmm ... I might have a brain tumor [You must be logged in to view images. I played a chanter at least during Kunark and prolly earlier too, and don't remember this. I know that pets were agro to everything before that patch Nil posted, but I'm still not convinced that they have been breaking mez all the way from beginning to half way thru Luclin but again, i might be wrong. would still like to see more proof tho [You must be logged in to view images. I can't offer "proof", but I can provide you with an eye-witness account: Pets definitely broke mezz before mentioned patch. I remember it well playing an enchanter, because you couldn't 'pet back off' [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Chanters never used to use pets in group because if you tash a mob and it hits you, your pet attacks said mob and breaks mez. Also i remember other people's pets breaking mez... as far as my memory goes pets are annoying as they were in classic [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Basically, you will never be using a pet in a group situation on this server since the change was not implemented till After Luclin was released. It's a bummer but honestly, our animation DPS was never that great to begin with.

My best recommendation would be to master the art of temp charming adds instead of mezzing them as a three-fold effect. You are taking care of crowd control and adding a ton of DPS to your group at the same time, not to mention saving the healers some mana.
