Laptop wont charge

Bunk battery?
Have plugged into several outlets, gettin a MSG that says "plugged in, not charging"

could be your ac adapter, so if you have a spare check for it. If not then you can go into bios and see if it's charging normally. Could also be an internal error but all you need to figure that out is to get a volt meter and touch it to the terminals where the battery is (of course you need the battery out for this) Then it should read the same voltage as your a/c adapter

Also some laptops have a function key combo that ets you disable battery charging until you hit the combo again. I know this is the case on Dell's.
