Default Er, lag much?

First time Ive experienced server lag (or what I think is for the most part), and I was wondering if anyone else was getting popped with it. Ive been sitting at about 70-80 MS all day, and suddenly Im moving at walk speed instead of selo's for a good 10 seconds at a time. Mobs catch up, bard falls over. Ive tried it with 100 mobs, and Ive tried it with five, same result. So for now, Im ruling out lag due to my hardware. The ms tells me that my connection to the server is solid, so Im at a bit of a loss here.

Ideas/options? (Fyi, I was in OT, and it was raining. Far clip pane was at 0, all spell effects off, "other" (i.e., spell damage) filtered to a closed window, and everything else I could set to minimum, or off in the case of shadows.)

*Edit* And yes, the game it set to run on a single core. Never had this issue before.

Try turning skies completely off, turn fps to 60, stop running youtube/music or anything like that while playing.

I run eq on a pretty primitive piece of shit and i rarely have lag issues till tr and vd show up and blot my sun. GL

Yea, should have mentioned skies being off specifically. However, the FPS thing, thats the first I've heard of that. I'm in the same boat as you with playing on a primitive piece of shit. Ill give the FPS fix a go.

System specs :

Amd Athalon 64+ Processor 3200+ (1.99 GHz)
1.87 GB RAM
577224 MB HD (Yeah, old enough to be listed in MB, not GB)
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 series

Gogo laptop that's almost 6 years old now, eh?
