Quest Issue: Marda's Secret Mission

This item is for the Marda's secret mission quest (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=287), but according to allakhazam it's only dropping from two newbie guards - which are made to be unkillable; one whom roams near Sro zone-in, other at Grobb ent. Haven't clearly killed em to see if it can be done. >< None of the other guards apparently drop these, a gnome verified this, having killed em for many lvls and not seeing any. Regardless, it's making one step of the quest relatively impossible to accomplish. (Although the quest itself is a bit weird, killing some city guard and a lvl10 mob to get a lvl4 spell? Lolol.)

Anyways, I'm kinda wondering if the Necklace is supposed to drop off all troll guards, kinda like those charisma rings from halfling guards, or Crude Steins off ogres? Chances are alla just doesn't mention the item on all guards, kinda like in case of Crude Steins. The quest description only says "troll bashers", not the specific 2 that are mentioned on the list of mobs that drop the necklace.

I was about to say I never heard of this spell but I checked Allakhazam first and damn!!!

You really have to wonder what some of these quest makers were thinking?

All in all though, another good find Brut!

I love how the quest can start by going to Marda, talking to her, then replying "too many syllables". =p

But yeah, it's a bit silly as a quest since the reward stinks. Isn't that whole bard-quest at Karanas where you kill the hermit just the same? The hermit is some lvl20 and the quest reward is a lvl4 bard song or something like that. This one at least has one portion in the quest (Glib and the Froglok Eye Necklaces) that can give you a decent WT reduc. bag.
