Basically what Cwall said, personally I'd get Razer Orcas (just headphones) and whatever desk mic you prefer.

I actually use the microphone on my webcamera and use my little Skullcandy earbuds

I just buy the cheap ass $20 ones at wal-mart and then when they break after 6 months I go back.

I have Razer Carcharias for my own and I can say without a doubt, most comfortable headset I have ever had. Only downside is you can totally tell when I've been wearing them becuase I get that ring around my ears and hair is pressed into my skull, but seriously, most comfortable headset ever.
