Screen freezing

Anyone else having screen freezing issues? I have Windows 11. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I've tried running eq in compatibility mode from XP all the way to Windows 8. I've updated my graphics driver. The screen will freeze, but the game still plays in the background. I have to camp out, and escape to login, then it's fine for a little while until it happens again. I have also tried running WinEQ2 and doing Alt/Enter, but it causes resolution problems. My son's computer has Windows 10, and he doesn't have this issue. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and if so, how did you resolve it?

It happens to me quite frequently too. Sometimes the screen will also go black, but I can hear the game in the background. Usually happens at the worst times too.

What I do when I hear the background sound is I press Alt+Enter to force full screen mode and the do Alt+Tab to return to windowed mode. 60% of the time, it works every time.

I had the black screen with sound in the back alot on my newr pc, alt enter will fix it sometimes but will also crash at times aswell, Go Download WinEq 2.0 and use it to launch p99 There is another program that ppl use that does the same thing but that was the fix i used. Havent had a "black screen freeze" yet since getting it.

I just started playing this week, and I've had several times where my screen froze, but I could actually still move my character around and actually log out in game (as visualized from my son's computer). The screen was still frozen after log out, but our group was disbanded. I was really gone. The first day I played I did not adjust screen size in the eqclient.ini, so maybe it has to do with that? I'll have to go back to original tiny view and see if that helps tonight.
