Merchant Killing

Went to buy some spells in the far remote regions of the Erudin library the other day and someone who knew I shouldn't be wasting my plat on such nonsense was thankfully clearing the library of all the spell merchants. As I thanked my lucky stars that I only wasted the port tip to get there, on the boat ride back to Qeynos, I wondered what other merchants had polluted Norrath long enough - but aren't merchants nerfed so that killing them gives no xp or loot?
