Default Warrior main - semi-casual player

I have a Barbarian 52 Warrior - and I would like to grind him to 60, but..

Are warriors as sub-par as everyone says outside of raid tanking?

I've never been on a raid - and unless my work changes I likely won't ever have the free time that allows bat-phoning. I would love to get in on some raiding but have no experience so I assume I'm not going to be picked for the tank?

Am I wasting my time leveling up my War vs my Pally? I like dual wielding, putting out respectable DPS and tanking. Pally is an option I just find the Warrior much more fun.

I don't have any raid gear, but am decently EC twinked/geared (minus some of the more expensive QoL items like some Cobalt clickies / Shrink bracer etc.) Sboz/Frostbringer have been doing a pretty damn good job holding aggro so far. Also have a wavecrasher but Sboz white dmg has been doing the job.

End goal: Crawling, Item/Treasure hunting, some raiding if I can get in on it

Appreciate any input!

Sub par is sufficient enough for non-raiding content.

Paladins are much better dungeon tanks, but warriors are fine. If you like warrior, play it. It's quite thr grind 50+ for either class

Either will easily fill a casual role. A warrior is better for some low-man stuff at 60.

It’s going to be a slog to 60; knights are a bit easier to solo there. Always level the class you like the best.

If you find the warrior fun then just stick with it. If you are semi casual then your class is irrelevant for raiding. Join the raids when you can and don't sweat the rest. You can also always play the guilds cleric or mage or port bots as needed if you want to feel more helpful for the raid.

your warrior will do just fine even if u don't give af about tanking gods. soak big dmg, do big dmg, and collect all the fun clickies forever. knights whippin u on group agro? tell someone to root and take a step forward.

I agree, I’d rather see an EC geared warrior with a reaver and two passable aggro weapons than half the people who show up on raids. A 60 warrior is a formidable char and with a scepter and a heal chain you can tank 99% of raid content without 6k+ hps.

Plus..they get massive gains with a little mid tier gear.

So lvl 60 is a game changer for war? Some disc or triple att?
Knights who rip agro from warriors (assuming ≈ weapon gear lvls) are just FoL/stun or disease cloud/darkness too often?

So far Knights only rip aggro from me with intention (FoL etc). If they aren't actively trying to rip it I have been able to hold aggro (taunt works wonders) consistently. 36% haste with Sboz/FB are surprisingly effective.

Sweet. Those are the answers I was hoping for. Gonna stick with the Warrior! Been having a blast and had more than a few groupmates stoked on my tanking. Solo will definitely be a slog, even compared to my pally, but I'm much more motivated on the war & pugs haven't been too hard to find so far.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Cheers!
