Game Mechanics: Not hitting as hard as I was

Good evening. I am a lvl 19 monk and have been using the adamatite bo staff for quite a few levels. Usually my max hit is for 38 damage. I logged on today though and I haven't been able to hit anything more then 28 all day long. I didn't notice it after the patch because when I was logged on last night, I was still hitting for 38. So the change has been since I logged out last night and logged back on today. I have tried to unequip/reequip the weapon, but no difference was made. Just wanted to know if anyone may have an answer.
