Tip for saving screenshots in different file formats

Here's a tip for saving screenshots in different file formats, since by defaults EverQuest saves them as .bmp's which are around 2.5mbs a piece!

If you open up your eqclient.ini and add the line "ScreenshotType=jpg" to the file your screenshots will be saved as .jpg's instead, < 100k filesize per screenshot. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Now what to do with 2.12gbs of old .bmp screenshots! Does anyone know of a mass converter I could just queue them all up into and have it convert them from bitmaps to jpegs?

Nice tip man, I've always wondered about that.

As for converting, this is a freebie off of sourceforge. Pic the type of file the pictures are (BMP), the type you want to convert to, and direct it to the folder they are stored in. You can also have it deleted the originals after the process is done.

Use iPhoto - just import them all, and then export the library to jpeg format.

I would think Automator could be used on your Mac to do what you need.

Plus it comes built in.

Otherwise this one looks worth checking out just for image type converting:
