Default Dial up, does it work on this server? anyone know.

So I have only 2 options for net out here, my current satellite option which does not provide for Server connection (Error 1017 everytime) or Dial up through my AT&T service phoneline, so does anyone know if Dial up works for this server? would be much appreciated.

The server couldn't care less how you connect to it; a connection is a connection. If you can get dial-up to connect to the 'net at all then I'm 99.9% sure you can use it to play on P99.

Yeah you should have no problems with dial-up as long as the connection is stable.

lol i like the "full classic experience" tag [You must be logged in to view images. Well-
Guess I gotta go out and get a 56k modem, my current Rig does not have one lol. Anyone got any recommendations on cheap reliable 56k modem models? would be great to get a little feedback on it, but I'm sure most of you are using Ethernet or better High Speed connections. Thanks guys. Hope to see you all in game soon.

It should work. You might lag a little because 56k sucks, especially nowadays where computers tend to have so many little bullshit programs running that all steal a bit of bandwidth, but you won't be prevented from playing the game by virtue of being on dial-up. I think it'll even be just fine for the most part unless the developers here have made significant changes to the server-client communication and such. Everquest was made for shitty connections and a lot of things happen client-side independently of the speed of one's connection. You should have no problems during most normal activities.

When I started EQ in 99, I played on an eMachine celeron with a vodoo 2 video card and 256 mb of ram, and it was considered a good machine. All we had was dial-up. 56k but I almost never syned higher than 33.3 because of the shitty apartment phone lines I lived in. It was fine back then. [You must be logged in to view images.
