Run EverQuest from a folder on your desktop and make eqgame.exe run in WinXP SP2 compatibility mode. If that doesn't fix the issue and you crash when you zone or get a blank server select screen then your connection has packet loss and you should look into that. Run a speed test that shows packet loss and jitter. Use a wired connection if possible, avoid cellular based connections and vpns.

dgvoodoo2 tends to remove most crashes, but ends wineq2 too (no more full seen 4k), and it runs at lower fps.

the particle envionment particle path began the resetdevice crases i think, some 5-7 years ago.
