Default Skill Hide (While turning in items to NPCs)

Hide should not be possible to use here while in a trade with an NPC to bump your faction.

Tested on EQMac with the old interface.

While in a trade with an NPC the entire User Interface (abilities/casting etc) should be locked out except for trade commands and the chat bar.

Using /doability in the chat bar results in:

You can't use that command right now...

Not sure why everyone thinks EQMac is the bible for classic. I can tell you affirmatively that Hide was used on live in Classic and Kunark for quest turn ins. Specifically, the SK epic.

Here is something from 2002 (I know later than our timeline, but surely earlier than EQMac. The wayback machine didn't have any pages further back):

[...]

NEXT--go to paineel..make a hotkey for hide you can click...give medallion to Gerot Kastane but DO NOT hit trade..use hotkey to hide and con him..when he is indifferent hit trade..this raises your truespirit faction..he will then give you a note to give back to his brother in kerra...
Link

Then later in 2003:

I initially planned to do the quest legally from start to finish. In the end I skipped around so in order to avoid losing any pieces due to faction problems on *every* turnin I handed the item to the NPC then hit my HIDE button and /conned the NPC, making sure I was indifferent, then completing the trade (the shadowknight epic stays apprehensive throughout, just different levels of apprehensive. An indifferent /con bypasses any skipped steps).

I am confident others can find better and earlier examples.

Both of those posts were made AFTER the new User Interface was implemented.

The functionality of the old interface and the new interface is completely different.

Yes, it is possible to click Hide while in a trade with an NPC with the NEW interface on EQMac.

It is not with the old interface.

Hide COULD NOT be used while in a trade with an NPC in Classic or Kunark.

It was not possible with the old interface.

Just because EQmac has something now doesn't mean it's classic. lol

if it's actually classic...prove it with actual links, not just say "EQMac has it, it's gotta be classic".

I remember hearing SK's turning in their quest items all the time with hide...in classic/kunark era.

This is the last time I'm going to explain this.

USING THE OLD INTERFACE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DO ANYTHING WHILE IN A TRADE WITH AN NPC.

Using the old Velious interface when you interact in a trade with an NPC it reverts back to the ORIGINAL UI (No transparent Velious interface).

It switches windows into the Classic UI.

Combat/Abilities/Socials/Hotkeys are not available to be clicked.

This is why I tried to use the /doability command. It does not work either.

The Classic/Velious interface and the NEW post Luclin interface interact with the user COMPLETELY different.

This is more proof than you are going to find anywhere, it's using the classic interface.

This is what it looks like with the old interface.

Before Trade:

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

During Trade:

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Clicking DONE in the interface results in "You must cancel or complete the trade":

This is true.
