another smithing questing

I got my skill up to 68 with the large lanters, trivial now, the guides and recipes I have read say dairy spoons, and looks like filleting knives would work to but..... they don't. Trying each one I get the same message with each, "can't combine in this container type". Trying to get to 74 so I can start making banded armor, maybe those recipes were later than kunark, I don't know, or maybe I am supposed to use something other than a forge /shrug. Does anyone know of a recipe that does work and will get me to 74, that won't break me that is, I am still low level so I don't have a ton of money to throw away in attempts, won't care once I get to banded but until then... I guess i could go ahead and 'try' the lower level banded item, but im afraid I will fail everytime.
