Game Mechanics: mob coin /weapon /etc all out of whack

First of I understand that devs cant get everything right and is a process.

Been playing on p1999 for a while just wondering why the mobs upto and past 40 have such poor coin and loot drops ?


take Kunark for example. When kunark was released their was much complaining about the fact that mobs in general carried so little coin and ohter items to sell to merchants. I remember a patch anouncing that the kunark zone would be revaluated for coin /gems /vendor fodder loot.

Some data Warsilk wooods EQ MAC:

killed roughly 50 oeach an iksar manslayer, Iksar Pariah, an exile. on EQ MAC

iksar manslayers from 5cp to 1pp in coin, upto topaz gems, and mithirl earings rarly. appropiat level spell reseach items ** balanced / finely crafter shanktok, khuri sheer blades and iskar targ shield /finely craftd targ shield ***.


Iksar Pariah from 5sp to 1.5 pp in coin, upto topaz gems, and mithril early rarly, appropiat level research items ** balanced / finely crafter shanktok, khuri sheer blades and iskar targ shield /finely craftd targ shield ***.


Iksar Exil 5gp to 2pp in coin, utpo topaz gems , assorted mino jewelry item pearle necklac, mithri learing etc. appropiat spell research fot these mobs levels. ** balanced / finely crafter shanktok, khuri sheer blades and iskar targ shield /finely craftd targ shield ***.



Tested same mobs in WArsilk woods P1999.

kill total 50 to 60 of iksar manslayers , iksar pariah, iksar exil .

Results all three of these mob type have same loot table as iksar manslayers.

iksar manslayers from 5cp to 1pp in coin, upto topaz in gems random jewrly item bloodstone ring to mithril earins these jewerly ranges from a few godl to 4pp sold to merchants. appropiat level spell reseach items levels 15 to 20 ( i believe that is level rang of iksar manslayers ) ** balanced / finely crafter shanktok, khuri sheer blades**.

seems perty strange that a up to level 26 mob would have same loot as 17 level mob.

Continued my testing

in swamp of no hope p1999 where their is cave full of iksar exiles zone to trakanon teeth.

EQ mac these mob do not exist as black ravagers where put into same location.


THESE MOBS DONT EVEN HAVE SAME LOOT QUALITY AS WARSILK WOOD EQUIVELENT.

*** These mobs only drop 5cp to 1pp in coin period. *** no reserach no jewerly no balanced or finly crafted weapons.

again strange loot for mobs that are upto level 26.

Have moved on to test emerald jungle


mobs being compared.

Iksar Picaroon and Iksar Anchoret picaroon war type anchoret shamy type mobs.

These mobs are foudn in varous camps < ie tents > around zone walls and cliff edge below platues where ej dragon normal walks around.


Medthode of comparison will kill 30 to 50 eqmac equivelent mob and do same on p1999 mobs.

Pending update:

- Fixed swamp exile loot table.
- Fixed coin drops you mentioned.
- Unified the other kunark iksar loot tables where they share same name/level range.

Rest of the drops seem fine. You can use http://eq.magelo.com/ to more easily determine the correct drops for various mobs. The only thing we really can't easily research are the coin rates.

I was geting all set to do lot of diffent zone mobs mostly in kunark.

this post was meant to provide relativly accurate data since i have toons of sufficient levels in both servers.


*** Correction **** after much testing all the drolvags i could kill all droped only rusty commmonly and bronze weapons rarly.

Bronze armour drops where rare , at least on eqmac lots of research was droped by the drolvags of fiona vie.

Here is list of coin drops per type on eqmac.

Savage = 5sp upto 1.5 pp

Scavanger + 5gp upto 2.5 pp

Growlers 5gp utpo 3.5 pp

Snarler 8gp utpo 4.5 pp


will test the p1999 drolvags of fiona when next i can log in.

Well combined with my personal testing and my friend druid information

here is the grand results.


*** SAvage , growlers , snarlers drolvags **** ALL DROP SAME RANGE OF COIN

5 COPPER PIECES TO 1 PLATINUM PIECE.


Their other drops are in line with eqmac.

Wierd note on p1999 their are no random Drolvag scavangers These tended to be the richer of all the drolvags at least higher rate of gems from my personal expierence.

I have personaly only ever seen one scavanger on p1999 and he only poped at 3 tents righ next to iksar statue head near the gaint hill and drolvag ruins.

Also of note here on p1999 this scavanger at least in my one time seeing him is the mob that drops the note for glaive of maltrek <sp?> quest in finoa vie.

on live an d eqmac this mob could be any of the random scavangers that would pop thorugh out fiona vie.

Gotta remember that EQMac is 2 expansion and many many patches ahead of p1999, what they have there may not entirely reflect what it's supposed to be here.

Granted , but it is the closest to p1999 we have to provide data.

back shortly afer kunark release on live the devs changed coin loot on kunark because of outcry by player at how poor coin loot was in kunark i remember a patch talking about this . eqmac would reflex this change .
