Default New player questions

I ordered the Titanium edition off of amazon and I'm anxiously waiting to join the server!

Until then, I have a few questions some of you might be able to help me with.

I plan on playing an Ogre Shadowknight and a Dwarf Cleric. My two favorite race/class combos from old EQ days.

Which one would be easier to start on P99? I'm obviously going to be untwinked and was wondering if I would have a hard time finding groups with either character?

I plan on visiting some of my favorite lowbie zones such as Oasis/Sro/Nro with my Ogre SK and crushbone with my dwarf cleric. Do a lot of players still go to those zones even though Kunark is out? I never experienced Guk, Mistmoore, Highpass, or Unrest. Are there still people who go to these zones as well?

My playing times are what's going to hurt me though. I think i'm probably going to be playing from around midnight EST to 7am EST when I am on.

Thanks for your help! I look forward to seeing you all ingame and I have enjoyed reading many of the discussions you all have posted on these forums in the meantime

I'm fairly new myself (less than a week) but I think cleric would be your best bet. You don't exactly need gear to get some exp and there seems to be a shortage of healers for dungeons.

As far as I know, most characters won't be heading to kunark until the LOIO days, which is late teens/early 20s. So you are probably still good doing CB/NRo/Oasis. As far as guk, MM, HPH/HK, and Unrest, I think a lot of people have moved to Kunark. I'd love to do them more, as I'm just getting into the LGuk and MM range myself, but I only /w all less than a group (and usually higher level farmers) when I'm on. They are still great zones, but I suggest BYOG (bring your own group).

Classic is still best exp until 52 or so. Plenty of people. I'm trying to get my 8 iksar warrior (well, I guess 7 since I died) to EC. Just gonna get a few stacks of bonechips as spider silk to sell so I can get some banded and weapons.

I have no idea what the easiest faction to get is though around EC. I've heard that you can bank in neriak, but I don't know if that's just Sks/necros or all iksars.

I think you need an invis through one part. I'll wait till I get there to worry.

I'd dispute this...Sure, there are places where exp is still better in classic, but by and large better exp can be found in Kunark. It was designed a lot better than classic was, for the most part.

I'm getting near double the exp at my current hunting location than the best possible classic location for my class (solo), and it will take me to 51. It's not as good loot though...
