Default Lavastorm Mob Pathing

Lavastorm mobs seem to have issues with moving over the terrain in the zone.

Many of the very rocky or uneven areas of the zone will cause the mob to disappear under the ground when you pull them over it.

I mostly observed this on the small hill directly in front of the Najena entrance. In addition, you cannot pull a mob past the broken doorway that leads to Najena, as it will go underneath the ground.

Mobs pathing naturally will also move over these areas and effectively be invisible until they path off of the area. This has made pulling in this zone very difficult as moving over the hilly, uneven terrain can lead to pulling mobs that you were unable to see.

I'm also curious if similar problems might be experienced in other zones w/ uneven terrain, such as Dagnor's Cauldron.

I can confirm that this has been happening in lots of other zones. Butcherblock Mountains, the many pits and hills found right in the newbie area make all sorts of strange hiding places for mobs. The Oasis of Marr boasts a hoard of invisible crocodiles whenever they go over its many hills. I've definitely seen it in other places as well but can't remember them specifically.
