 | How to Fix sky.log Errors *** This IS NOT an official fix from the devs but a workaround I came up with for my edification only. This IS NOT supported by the devs nor myself *** If you're like me, then you're probably tired of not being able to see very well in zones due to issues with the sky loading. I was able to resolve my issue by following the steps below. NOTE: It is helpful to use two File Explorer windows for this process Normally I would not say to go download this or that, but I no longer have any physical media or a "Live" installation directory. If you have the latest expansion from live downloaded or still have a "Live" installation directory, just locate your install directory and use this process minus the Steam client install information. Failure to copy back the original GlobalLoad will result in a P1999 error message and the client will not load. This happens at the server select screen when attempting to connect to the server. 1. Go to your EverQuest install directory 2. Make a directory called "original_files" or something along those lines 3. In your EQ install directory, right-click the Resources directory and select cut 4. Go into your newly created original_files directory, right-click and select paste 5. This will paste your resources directory in here 6. If you have the Steam client, great, if not, go download it 7. After the Steam client is installed go to the Steam Store 8. Search for EverQuest Free to Play 9. Install the EverQuest Free to Play client The EQF2P install path will look similar to this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P 10. Once the EQ F2P client is installed, go to the install path 11. Right-click on the Resources directory 12. Go back to your EQ installation directory and scroll down past the directory section 13. Right-click and select paste to add the new Resources directory 14. Go into the new Resources directory and rename the GlobalLoad file to GlobalLoad_old 15. Go back up to the EQ install directory and go into your newly created original_files directory 16. Copy the GlobalLoad file, go back up to the EQ install directory 17. Go into the Resources directory and paste the GlobalLoad file. 18. Go back to your Steam client and uninstall the EQF2P client 19. Start your p1999 game and enjoy. | ||
