![]() GM's/Server Community:
First I would like to say thank you for all the work you are doing with the server. If it wasn't for the devs of the server, and other's who are playing the server I personally wouldn't be playing any MMORPG. I did have a question that has been brought up to by many members of my guild and I didn't have an answer for them. I was hoping to reach out and get a public answer on this forum. As many know, on live, the period of being able to bind in Timorous Deep was 4 days from Kunark release. My question is, why have the dev's decided to move away from the original timeline in this aspect, when in so many other cases Dev's have mentioned that they are striving to stay as close to the timeline as possible? As of today, the window has been extended to 6 days at least. I understand that in some cases, with no documentation, the timeline's need to be adjusted to the best estimate, but with this particular aspect its quite clear. The bind period should really have ended 4 days after launch. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks, Eccezan HEDS Officer of TMO | ||

![]() My guess would be, the devs have real lives and real jobs outside of stuff here and are working on other things which have a larger effect on peoples game play.

![]() Verant = multi-million dollar enterprise with full-time (read: paid) teams of project managers, developers, customer-support (lol), testers, artists, database admins, actors, engineers and system administrators and eventually the financial backing of an online juggernaut hell bent on taking over the MMO landscape. Server hardware is brand-new, network is tier-1 in redundant datacenters and supported by 24/7 staff. Changes are planned months in advance and executed after careful testing.
Project 1999 = a small group of talented guys with (mostly) normal lives and changing priorities. Nobody earns a dime for their efforts. Servers are either refurbished or cobbled together out of donated parts & funds. There's nooooo freaking way that the monthly donations get anywhere near to covering the cost of upkeep & hosting. Blahblahblah... P1999 is obviously a smaller enterprise. For fuck's sake... these guys are basically putting in a 2nd full time job as a 'hobby' so 1500 strangers can enjoy a bit of nostalgia. And you have the nerve to come and 'inquire' about a 'delay' in historical accuracy? Good God man.
