Default As a new/returning player, should I play p99 or EQ TLP? Advice for beginner...

Hey guys. I just hopped on the forums to say hello. i'd very much like to return to everquest after a looooong hiatus. it is essentially new to me.

I know most of you will have your biases, but for a player like me, looking for a strong experience with a large population, friendly community, but also a not-so-terribly-difficult leveling experience while still being immersive, what server would you recommend?

I would be starting brand new - naked - so i'd be working my way up as an iksar warrior of course (my original main) with rusty weapons and various low level armor pieces. Which is why i'm looking for the server thats going to support that experience the best.

With that criteria, there is really only one choice: P1999 Blue.

No boxing, large and friendly population from level 1-60.
But there is no experience bonus or anything, just plain old exp grinding.

Good luck [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you want EQ easymode, TLP
If you want to actually interact with people, P99

How’s it going? I have several low players as well. I’m trying to play more as well, time permitting. Look me up on Renlaan 18 Druid.

Largest population would be P99 Blue.

Easiest leveling experience would be a TLP server on EQ live.

Leveling on P99 Blue is some of the best you can get for EQ. The raiding scene can get a bit toxic, but if you don't plan on raiding or just go at it very casually, you'll have no problems. You'll meet a lot of great people leveling up and might even make some friends.

Welcome and have fun!

TLP's are temporary and they all die with a pathetic whimper

I wouldnt suggest this server for endgame. You Will only get to zerg raid (100+ for aow).
Will only stay at zoneline and wait for trainpulls and neverending guild drama + suspensions [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Gotta love it. "friendly" lol

I don't get why people say "don't play P99, the end game/raid scene sucks". Even if that new player will ultimately agree with you...it takes a new player a long time to get to reach that point in the game. The game is slow when you aren't twinked, don't have a core group, and don't know all the min/max strategies. It usually takes time build the relationships and bank accounts you need to get to 60. It took me at least a year and half, maybe 2. That's time that I spent reliving old memories, making new friends, experiencing the game in ways I never did on live, and having a lot of fun. If on the other hand, we are talking about someone who will steam through 1-60 in a couple months...the raid scene will probably be just their cup of tea anyway.
