![]() Attempted to create a thread before, but I dunno what happened.
Installing EQ now and looking to get on tonight. Either want to play a cleric, shaman or enchanter but haven't completely decided. Was hoping anyone viewing the forums could share their opinion. Thanks for your time, and look forward to seeing some of you in game. Hoping I don't have a duplicate thread posted.

![]() Play something that doesn't need gear and can farm well solo.
Necromancer comes to mind.

Anything you can get solo is hot garbage compared to what you'd get in a group/duo

![]() Play something that works well in a group and farm friends.
Friends are much more powerful than items.

![]() Cleric - Beholden to grouping (which is great up until all the groups in a zone have a cleric) nobody ever wants a 2nd cleric...ever. Solo even vs undead your basically a single target wizard *not a good thing
Shaman - Decent solo but nothing amazing up until epic and 60 (Torpor). Then suddenly becomes like 20x better in a single spell due to how it works with Cannibalize. Can solo, group, and Heal. Their dps is pretty slow and they will hardly ever dps in a group (their slow and heals are much better in groups) Enchanter - Amazing solo from 12 to 60 with little to no gear, but needs game knowledge / class knowledge. Yes everyone says how enchanter is a stupidly powerful class... and it is, but if you play it poorly then you will be dying constantly. Can solo and group, but can never heal (although slows in groups prevent tons of dmg), However unlike shaman Enchanter can be a DPS monster with a charm pet.
