Default Solo Cazel?

I have heard that enchanters can solo Cazel, so I figured I would give it a shot. I charmed Gadallion (she already had a torch), gave her VoG, and set her loose on Cazel. Tashed + slowed + feared him. His life dropped to 90% before fear wore off, after which his health went back up to 96-98% and held there even after fearing him again.

What am I not doing correctly? Should I give Gadallion a snare-procing weapon?

Thanks!

Never needed to fear him but I also put the dots on him (asphyxiate and torment or argli)

But I didn't solo him I also had a druid friend who put a few dots on him as well

Charm + enc dots + druid dots- he died super fast

The best way I know to do this is set the gypsy vendor and the inn vendor up with WR and torch. Root them on top of each other. Charm Cazel and send him into them until he's really low HP.

One vendor can barely out DPS his regen, it would take forever. Two vendors will kill him in 2 or 3 mins tops.

This is a different strategy than what I’ve heard, but makes perfect sense. Just keep the merchants rooted and be prepared to channel a Boltrans if charm breaks.

How did you do the final bit of damage? Channeling a nuke through a summon sounds like it would be challenging at best.

Good idea! Thanks for the advice =)

Baylan, since the vendors are level 45 I was planning to use my Necklace of Whispering Winds if charm breaks.

Great item! Just make sure you blur after you land slow. (Do you know if it’s rechargeable? I have one but have not tested all the mana batteries...)

If you use the above idea with two vendors and reverse-charm killing, the necklace will not work as Cazel is level 50(?). You would need a wand of allure, or to channel Boltran’s.

Good point.. Time to recharge my wand!

I have read that the mana batteries that cost ~22 pp are used to recharge the necklace, but I can't confirm this.

I need to confirm this. Insta-clickie rechargeable charm for agro would be... useful sometimes. I can’t remenber - does it need to be equipped or is it clickable from inventory?

Cazel flees at low HP. The challenge is making sure you don't break charm to early since he regens basically half a Dementia per tick.

Now, I'm excited to try this!

I was also thinking that if one of the NPCs is not rooted, I could break charm on Cazel at low HP and immediately charm the unrooted NPC, using her for extra damage while I get dementia off.

Baylan, you must equip the necklace to cast =(
