Default Pet Agro is better but still messed

At this point in time I cannot stand in melee range of a mob if my pet is the only tank, regardless of my own personal agro - this includes feigning and standing up next to a mob.

Usually this is not a problem, but it makes casting on any Giant mob with your pet as the only tank extremely risky.

This is exactly how it should work. An npc should always choose to attack a player over a pet, given the option.

Unless the mob is rooted and pet is closer, but cant test while Earth pets are broken

When will this be fixed? I have not been able to level with my rogue friend since this has been bugged. Was having a blast leveling up re living the classic eq experence duoing with my rogue friend and myself shaman.

sick pet, root mob, pet tanks, rogue backstabs.

Thats how it worked in classic and thats how ive been leveling up on here till now. ITs so busted even if i let pet tank 50% get full agro the second it gets rooted it will just always hit the rogue.

I can solo great still the only thing this does is make it so I cant group with my melee friends and its pretty lame it takes longer to heal them then it does for me to solo.

Well you're both right, at one point on live pets could be the tank and hold agro over someone else in melee range, but it was changed; when was it changed is the real question.

After velious was released.. I remember it being a big problem when i was doing Velks then it was changed a couple of weeks later.

I've noticed issues with agro vs pets as well. I was in Oasis with my lvl 18 Necromancer fighting crocs and caimans. If I cast any spell on the mob (even those light blue to me) they would come after me. I even waited until the pet had done over 60% of damage and cast a darkness spell. The mob instantly came after me. There were some very rare occasions when it wouldn't but for the most part they would come after me. This is a huge change to how it was before. In the past I could land some DOTs on the mobs and even sit without agro. Now I can't even stand. I also noticed that I seemed to keep "out-agroing" my pet where the mob would start to come at me and then turn to fight the pet and then turn to come at me a second later and then turn back to the pet (not after every tick of time, but every other second it seemed). Something is badly messed with the pet agro.
