![]() I've been a member for a long time, but I don't think I've ever posted before. Pretty much gave up because of the difficulty of finding titanium anywhere. I found them, but my anti virus, eset finds some kind of threat while downloading and the download fails. I've thought about disabling protection to get it done, but it kind of scares me because of the big red warning message from eset. Anyone else know of this problem? the threat is called Win32/packed. themida

![]() Hi Newfangle9,
Run the files through VirusTotal (https://www.virustotal.com/#/home/upload). VirusTotal scans the file using a bunch of different AntiVirus engines (for free) and gives you the results of all of the engines. There'll be a "Community" tab on the results page; if the file's been analyzed before, this may have details on it and comments by people on whether or not the file is safe. If not, post the SHA-256 hash(es) here (it'll be listed at the top of the results page) and either some other knowledgeable individual or I can take a look at it and let you know if it seems suspicious. Cheers! EDIT: I just re-read your post and saw you say that the download failed. If you're talking about the Titanium copy: If you can submit the file via URL, do so. Otherwise, look in the file description for an MD5/SHA hash; if it has one, you can use that to look up the file information on VirusTotal. As loramin said below, if your anti-virus is triggering on the file, it's best not to disable it to download the file; the ONLY exception I would make to this to this is if you have malware analysis training as a computer security professional. If you're talking about the V45 patch, see Tupakk's response below.

![]() I would not disable your anti-virus, I would look elsewhere for a safe torrent. Somewhere like EBay, but for Project 1999, like some kind of P-Bay ...
If you find such a site, and the most popular torrent also triggers your anti-virus, then maybe try a different anti-virus program? Personally I wouldn't blindly install anything off the internet without some sort of virus scan.

![]() The patch files have a DLL Hook file in it to make sure you aren't cheating.
Install Titianum then disable AV and move the patch files in. You could go one step further if your AV is an active scanning type and make an exception for the EQ directory you are installing it in.

![]() I think we have some confusion. Is the antivirus triggering on your Titanium copy or on the v45 patch, Newfangle?

![]() thanks for the quick replies. My antivirus triggers during the download of the v45 patch files located in p99's getting started/set up guide. It stops the download and the zip package says failed- network error. I haven't tried to install the game yet, figured I better solve this problem first.

![]() Ah ok. The v45 patch triggering is a false positive (because of the DLL hook Tupakk mentioned). It isn't malicious and isn't anything to worry about.
You aren't the only one who's had the problem. https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ight=antivirus https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ight=antivirus Here's the VirusTotal report for the V45 patch. Interestingly enough, your antivirus, ESET, actually marks it as safe in the report. https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/bb4...f6b6/detection
