Game freezing

My guild was raiding plane of fear and I zoned in, ran to the wall, then EQ froze. I restarted my computer and relogged in. Was able to look around in first person, but once I tried to engage with my guild it would freeze. Anyways kept freezing until finally I was able to get on long enough to get a TL out of Plane of Fear. I have never had an issues like this and haven't changed anything since starting on p99 2 years ago. Don't know if this is a common issue. Haven't tried to play since getting my TL to WC. Do you have any really small chat boxes? Running EQ as administrator/changed the compatibility? Could be any of those - I'd try those first to narrow it down. Let us know!

Thank you for the response. I have 3 rather large chat boxs running across the bottom of the screen. I did recently make a new one, and filtered all the misses to go in that window. I made the chat window small and moved it to the side. Should I try getting rid of that? I start up EQ with a shortcut.

Can you elaborate on the small chat boxes problem? I have 3 small boxes for melee numbers and since the last patch I've been crashing at least once every 2 days, sometimes multiple times in the same day.

Seems to usually happen when I loot a corpse or open vendor/bank window, but it has happened when not doing anything as well.

Most likely it is the new chat box you made, if you make them too small it crashes the game when text is delivered there. Make it bigger or remove it all together.
