![]() It all comes down to your preference really.
If you like wiz play wiz, though this server is somewhat prejudiced about inviting wizards (and Druids at higher levels) to groups. Mage is easy to play. They are like a wizard but they have their pet to tank and absorb damage. If you like standing back and casting maybe go Mage. Possibly necro. Druids are a great jack of all trades kind of class that gives you a lot of options. Enchanter is tougher than the others to master really, has a high skill ceiling but can be very rewarding when you learn to play it right. Definitely a more involved class that is constantly using utility spells, forgetting and memming other spells in the heat of battle. If you want to just stand back and cast casually maybe don't play enchanter. Sorry I'd post more detailed info right now but feeling lazy, just felt obligated since no one replied yet. | ||

![]() Of the casting classes the one that has the most simple job while still being highly productive is the mage class. Mage pet alone provides enough dps to contribute solidly to any group. Necros bring a lot to the table along with dps but they are busier and a lot more involved to maximize.
Wizard damage output outside of a hard burn (not relevant 99.9% of the time) is just awful. It's not their fault ... just a weakness of the class. Even with c2 you're looking at just over 30 mana a tick medding. With c2 and no resists and using a higher efficiency level 60 nuke (1200 dmg for 300 mana) you're looking at a nuke a minute ... 20 dps sustained. A high level mage pet meanwhile is churning out 40-50+ dps along with the mage using their own mana to nuke or cast dmg shields.

![]() Playing an enchanter really makes you understand the fundamentals of a group and provide a lot of fun as you are tasked in handling different scenarios. I love my enchanter and it is nice to have the freedom to really go anywhere in the game. Not that fun in raiding however with Velious sadly; the 1-54 experience is well worth it.

![]() A great enchanter will stand out more than the others. Rarely have I grouped with mages but some were pretty creative in using their pet to pull/tank/cc pretty well. Druid and wizard you'll be less desirable for groups, but can make easy money porting. Druid has PoM charming open to them at higher levels, Wizards wonlt have that. Can also function as an ok mid level healer in some groups.
