![]() How in need of tanks is this server? I was enjoying my paladin until all my friends were startig to get really far ahead of me in levels, so i decided to go with Warrior, but even at lvl 8 couldnt keep mobs attention on me
1) What is the proven way around this? Are there 2 weapons i HAVE to have to keep agro? 2) When (if) Kunark comes out, will my ability to keep agro change at all? 3) In this era, was it this hard for warriors to keep agro on live, or is it an P1999 issue?

It's very difficult for my level 20s Warrior to find a group. I sit with LFG on for literally 4 hours in high-pop dungeons and not get one tell. If you're going to be a tank, it seems most of the time you have to start your own group if you want to get any xp. Get used to doing that. | |||

![]() Healers and tanks are extremely needed, at least in the high teens

![]() Try 2 gnoll hide lariats if you can't get obsidian shards. One of the warriors in my guild does that and he is really good about keeping aggro.

OP: you can get a Polished Granite Tomahawk for about 1/4 the price of an Obsidian Shard. If you're hurting for money I would recommend the PGT, but if you can afford shards, get shards. You need aggro weapons to hold aggro. By the way, your paladin won't be leveling much slower than a warrior, since your EXP penalty is spread across the group. So a 40% penalty with a group of five people would only end up being an 8% penalty (assuming none of them have any penalty/bonus). Come Kunark, your taunt will work on targets who con higher than blue, so you will have somewhat better aggro generation, but it'll never be the same level as a PAL or SK.

![]() For what it's worth, I don't find it hard to -keep- aggro. I find it hard to get initial aggro, for sure, since we are entirely reliant on procs. There is at least one way to get around that but it takes a very patient mage.
Kunark will fix the taunt issue.

![]() At level 8 you pretty much suck at everything, including getting and keeping aggro. Once you get past dual wield level and start doing crits, things get better. Once you get high level, not as many mobs are red/yellow anymore so taunt actually works on blues. There's plenty of higher level groups still looking for pure tanks, I get tells asking to come join groups on a regular basis.
Here's the proc weapon list I usually suggest... Polished Granite Tomahawk (Level 10) - self-healing absorb Obsidian Shards (Level 16) - 30pt DD and debuff Kicsh Der Pavz (Level 20) - 300+ DoT Gnoll Hide Lariats (Level 25) Skip these if you have shards - Stun Axe of the Slayers (Level 30) - self-healing absorb Short Short of the Ykesha (level 37) - 75 pt DD/stun You can sneak around SolB and try not to die to pick up a Painbringer too. Procs at level 1. Sure it's an AE proc but CC sucks at low levels anyway, and the AE is a limited area.
