Default Shaman Canni Tick

Recently, Ive tried actually getting canni down pat. I believe my internet connection is pretty solid, so. Im canni'ing at Server mana tick, I stand, and cast..Mana goes up once. Then very shortly after sitting, Im getting a 2nd mana bump.

If Im doing this right, that first mana increase after server tick was the actual Spell gain, the 2nd Im getting very shortly sitting down is the server tick right? I hope thats not confusing. Im just trying to make sure I have this right.

Hopefully someone can explain this more gracefully because its late here but...
There is a server tick and a fake client-side tick. Canni mana gain is displayed instantly on the client irregardless of the former two.

The titanium client has the incorrect (non-classic) mana regen ticks hard-coded into it and should be ignored until the correct (classic) server tick happens. This is why if you are medding (ignoring canni for now) and stand to cast right after some ticks you will go back DOWN one tick, the server wasn't ticking... your client was and then the server sees you standing and removes it from your client while you are casting (interrupting your cast if you have insufficient mana). You look for the proper server tick by knowing your real HP regen then canni'ing off your HP which is accurate AFAIK. Canni mana gain is always displayed instantly client side even in-between client/server ticks but can be inaccurate (E.G showing 1 or 19 mana gain on Canni 1 because you missed a server tick casting when the range for the spell is 20-28).

To make matters worse the server/client ticks aren't at a set distance from each other, the tick window moves around depending on time, your latency, and the zone you are in. The client/server ticks can be stacked right on top of each within a few milliseconds sometimes... meaning you can't canni dance at all as the server will register you as standing. They usually spread back out within 5 minutes or so.

TL;dr
Troll racial regen for my level was 6 HP + 10 from spell regen = 16 per tick. I'd canni right after I regened 16hp. Never missed my server ticks by going off HP, canning off mana number was a crap shoot.

Make sure you are using an interface that displays the numerical HP/mana totals. You can't do it by looking at a bar moving alone.

Once you get Canni 3/4 you can spam an instant click to remove your global cool down and you don't have to bother canni dancing with the garbage client anymore. I got carpal tunnel and burned out in my late 40's due to epic costs before getting there, so good luck!

At least on my client, there are usually two "ticks" per real server tick for mana. One of them registers as the amount of mana I'd get from meditate and any mana regen buffs I have (20-40ish depending) and one registers as the base mana I'd regen without sitting and without buffs, though it includes the epic rune regen for some reason (1-4 mana). I've found the smaller tick is the "real" tick, so I stand for my Manna Robe dance immediately after the smaller tick. I assume Canni dancing should work similarly.

Fake ticks ARE Classic. It's just a matter of learning to recognise which is which, it's not even possible to explain it other than to learn it in practise.
