Massive Melee Text Lag?

Strange, new lag/latency issue for me. I never had this problem before maybe a month ago, but it's starting to really drag things down during raids.

Whenever I'm on a raid, where a lot of melee is going on (and therefore, in my Combat chat, there's a lot of text scrolling), my game slows down to a crawl. When I back away enough out of range that the scrolling text does not appear from melee, the game returns mostly to normal.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

To try to combat the issue, I have done away with complex skies, all spell effects, etc, whereas two months ago they were turned up all the way and I had no problems at all.

My computer is an early 2016 MacBook Pro, fully souped up, with Bootcamp running Windows 10.

Not sure how to diagnose this issue.
