Default Wizard Level 1

Wizards, at least the dark elf I remade several times, began with "Shock of Frost," a spell that cannot be used on this server, rather than "Frost Bolt," which has to be purchased, leaving them without their evocations between level 1 and 4 (until you get the money to purchase, which isn't much, but a pain to attempt to accumulate with only a dagger and minor shielding).

Why would Shock of Frost not be useable on Project 1999?

According to this it is available on the server. You may not start with it and have to purchase it but it is there.

Same problem. I have wizard in Erudin and I can't memorize Shock of Frost. Says that a wizard can never learn that spell and it lists it as WIZ(255).

Just tried it today.

I have a wizard and the spell worked just fine for me when I was starting out (that was a few months ago, though). Might be a problem with the spell file you have hopefully replaced according to the directions in this topic.

The only thing I did not do was move the 5 listed files out of the directory. I have this on a Project1999 only computer.

I downloaded the must dos and some of the optional stuff.

I am using Secrets of Faydwer.

This is the only spell I've seen so far that does this.

I have looked at other wizard spells and I have a cleric with no similar problem.

I played tonight and realized that my Frost Bolt and one other have a howling wolf icon. Shock of Frost still is WIZ(255) and so are the ones at the vendor.

My friend made one and when he would cast Shock of Frost (he had no problem with it) it would tell me that the target "adheres to the ground" and give me the Root effects, but not to him.

I think I'm going to delete this character and start over. My cleric and ranger have no problems at all. So I can't imagine it being my files, unless it's only my wiz files specifically.

That could be your problem. Far as I know SoF client is not officially supported on p99.

U was thinking that, but shouldn't I be having problems with all three characters? Also, my friend is also using SoF and is having no problems at all.

going to try deleting character first. If I have problems with it then I'll get Titanium and try again.

I'm hoping that medievalerror is still reading this and posts if he's using Titanium or SoF.
