Default Wizard twink ideas

Hey i'm looking for some items and ideas that would make wizard leveling notably easier. I'm willing to spend whatever amount on this. Are there specific items that would help here? or should i just pay for a power leveling service?

There are a bunch of items you can buy that will help a lot. Unusually many of these have a required level. Generally they are purchased from vendors, but some are created through trade skills, quested or dropped.

I am of course talking about spells! Don't feel obliged to buy them all though.

A staff of temperate flux is great; insta click fire/cold debuff. Great for tagging mobs or building aggro for kites. Speaking of kites, Jboots are also useful.

Early levels have decent hp, park yourself into a corner and you can PB AoE yourself up.

I also found a lost staff of the scorned to be a decent melee weapon to begin with (before your melee skills start to get left behind and meditate starts to become powerful). Keep it for higher levels as it is also a mana free group port to nek forest (just off EC).

These are the items I've most enjoyed on my wizard. Peg cloak and fishbone earring also good.

Solist Icy Wand

this will make leveling sub 20 way easier

I think you can click it at like lvl 12 which is before you can even scribe the spell it casts. You will become insanely powerful for the next 2-3 levels and will still use this wand into your late 30ies/40ies for extra damage to finish fleeing mobs to save mana.

Free damage clicky is essential for any wizard

I don't see why you'd want to dump "whatever amount" on a wizard twink. All you'll ever really need is a Staff of temperate flux and jboots. Jboots are 7k, the staff I imagine pretty cheap/bug a friend for an afternoon.

If you want to make the first 20ish levels easier, you might snag a Tolapmuj's robe and a smoldering brand or velium brawl stick... or a Rod of Annihilation if you really mean "whatever amount."

I guess if you wanted to go crazy you could get a manna robe/stone and fungus staff?

Or just pay for a PL, but at that point you're skipping the most enjoyable part of the server (sub-60 scene).

I was able to quad with my mildly twinked wizard starting at level 8 with just some jboots and some +mana items. Definitely get yourself a flux staff at level 20 to make tagging a breeze and you'll have literally everything you need to cruise to the mid-50s. Solists Icy Wand is a great suggestion if you don't feel like quadding that early.

Unlike melee classes, you can't really boost your killing efficiency by equipping regen, haste, and a good ratio weapon. One of the woes of being a caster...

Edit: Crawdad beat me to it. He's 100℅ correct on all counts.

if you can get a few bags of redwood wands then getting to even the low 30s are easy. just recharge them, click for instant damage. The more you have the more power they are. at least at lower levels.

After that you can't really get much more help from items before you hit 50 and able to click wizard epic. You can however get melee PLed with RoA after 30 (when damage cap is removed).

this is basically the only way to "twink" your wizard effectively, with a "twink" being defined here as significantly above your combat capabilities for your level.

at super low levels the dagger of frost will feel semi-twinky, but it won't proc for you until long after you've stopped bothering with regular melee.

I guess you could probably lay down however many hundreds of k trying to find a rod of annihilation. there's some out there. or you could chew through consumables like someone else suggested. failing that, buy the icy wand and enjoy your (very) brief run of power.

Use sow potions to quad sub-34, since sow is a bit faster than jboots effect. Start at level 24 when you get Column of Lightning spell (130ish damage).

What you need to get there: Solist's Icy wand, 16x10 slot bags, level 12. Kill wisps in Erud's Crossing till all your bags are filled and your eyes bleed. Gather 158 lightstones and greater lightstones (need 2 item slots for food/water), turn them in NK and get from level 16 to level 20 quickly from all the turn-ins.

Also no matter how tempting don't turn Lightstones till you are level 16 or all your bags (including those in bank) are full.

Kill stuff to get from 20 to 24 or buy a ton of goblin ears in EC to get there faster.

My list (for *any* amount) would be as follows:

1: White or Red Dragon Tooth - go to OT and summon your level 49 necro pet, level to 40 there. Pick an evil or neutral race (anything but high elf I think) so you can use the outpost to afk safely & bank all your spells.
2: Rod of Annihilation - start using this at 30+ in conjunction with pet's damage.
3: Tolapumj's Robe - for haste.
4: Pre-nerf fungi staff - so you don't die.
5: Jboots and/or SoW pots - so you don't die.
6: Oggok cleaver and a summoned muzzle of mardu for the pet, for uber damage.

The pet will eat half of your xp, but a level 49 pet can shred level 20-30 mobs so fast it won't matter.

It is the level 8 spell and does 38 damage, at level 12 you have your 90 damage nuke already. It's still goodto finish off mobs or save mana at that level.

Edit:
You want raw hp/mana, jboots, a tola robe and a velium crystal staff.
