This is a very classic guide.

TLDR;

First off, the raid should never exceed 7 full groups. The lag in a fully populated fearplane is incredible, and increases exponentially with over 42 people. If there are more people that want to go, there is ample opportunity for them to support the troops outside the portal.

YOU WILL DIE!!! This point cannot be stressed enough. Do not think that by using some sneaky tactic, or superior knowledge you can survive.

Who Raids Fear for 11/12 Hours lol. Thats Classic!!

You have killed the entire Plane of Fear. Give yourself a pat on the back. Please congratulate the winners of the prizes. Even if you really wanted the item, how would you like it if someone frowned when you won something? If all went well, you have about 1-2 hours before the zone pops again (13-14 hour cycle).

Magicians

Every raid needs a magician. After the initial rush, the melee types wont have gear any more. They will need many things summoned including food, water and weapons. The mage is a key component of the raid.*

I still remember a classic Fear raid my live guild was on during early velious, we were all up and coming and excited to give it a shot.

went in, partial wipe. went in again, full wipe. called in another guild to help us, *they* had a full wipe. called in *another* guild... etc.

broke it eventually, but it was a surprisingly good day to be a wizard. they fight very well naked, and evac'ing to avoid full wipes on the break was fairly key in those days.

Wow, I never remember that being a thing. Closest I came to that was a plane of growth wipe where we were nearing rez expiration and had to camp to alts. Wound up begging the awakened / aftermath of the server to CR us. They did and they wound up inviting us to kill tunare after... And gave my warrior the braid of tunare's hair! 15/21 proc a DoT... Was amazing aggro on my warrior. This was just after luclin came out
