Default Belt of the Great Turtle... Why?

I've been trying to wrap my head around the 100k price tag on Belt of the Great Turtle. The 2 hp regen is (imo) meaningless and the 10 atk is as useful as clicking a goblin skull earring. It's not even a fashion quest item.

Is this the most overpriced item on the server? I can't think of a real reason to purchase it over a spider fur belt or RBG. If you have the money to waste on the belt, why not waste it on the plethora of more useful expensive items in the 100-300k range?

Especially for rogues, I'd always rather use a Lodi shield on my back slot for resists, a Tranix crown on my head for resists, and use the belt slot (which has little resist options) for something like an RBG, RBB, or Seahorse belt to reduce BS cooldown during raid fights.

What am I missing?

Its the only droppable aura of battle item. AoB stacks or atleast it should. And lodizal is a shit camp.

Kind of overpriced but you're seriously understating the value of worn stackable attack

What other purchasable, stackable attack is there to get?

I understand why someone in full BIS gear might find it useful for its ability to stack, but that's a very, very, very small handful of players.

This was actually my point. There should be more belts of the great turtle on the server than people who can even make use of the fact that it stacks.

Right but that handful of players commits 20-40 hrs a week to bulk up their dkp to buy upgrades. Of course they would shell out high platinum for upgrades

Haste comes in multiple slots, turtle belt is the only droppable AoB item in the game (and 1 of 4 items a rogue can use). There's certainly other gear priorities you should have before buying a turtle belt, but once you're at the point of min/maxing the stackable atk from AoB shouldn't be ignored.

The belt is also a rare drop off a highly contested mob that only spawns every 18 hours and has the chance to skip. Scarcity is definitely driving the price up.

The regen is awesome actually. It basically takes the downtime out of soloing tons of stuff as a pure melee class even as your only regen item. On top of that it will stack with worn Fungal Regrowth or Regeneration, and with other Aura of Battle items as others have stated.

Raw +ATK is basically the best thing you can have on an item as a high level rogue. It's better than Grim Aura because it's worn - it stacks with anything and everything, while Grim Aura gets overwritten by Strength of Nature. Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring is actually more useful as a junk buff clicky than a +ATK buff.

On top of that the belt's stats are great.

I wrestled over this for a bit after I found out about the backstab cooldown thing. If you're truly going min-max as a rogue then you're gonna want Cloak of Flames in your back slot, unless you have Grey Suede Boots or Silver Bracelet of Speed, and Lodi Belt in your belt slot. You could certainly sacrifice the 3%-9% backstab haste, regen, and +ATK in lieu of a different belt and focus more on HP and resists, but my preference is definitely the former. I've got plenty of hit points and resists for every encounter in the game even without my Lodi Shield or a RBG, so at the end of the day all I really care about is how quickly I'm making the mob dead.

that's a good point, i guess it just comes down to what you prioritize

i supposed i'm just automatically assuming a lodi shield for the 20 fr cr 10 mr and a 34% haste belt is more important to me than the 10 attk and a 36% haste cloak

could see how someone would prioritize it the other way around though, cheers!

The belt adds 28% regen boost to non-innate regen races, a 9% boost if they already have a fungi. In both cases, that's pretty significant. Plus all of that other great stuff the belt does.
