![]() (First of all, I apologise for my poor wording. English is my 5th language, and I doubt I would get anything out of blabbering on in Danish, or something like that. If there is something you did not understand, please tell me. I will try explain again. Thank you for understanding.)
So, I decided to creep back into P1999 after a bit of a break, because friend subscribed me to some weird game, without me knowing. He wasted money on it, so the least I could do, was play it with him, till subscription ran out. And I return, to see the same bug as before. It is not too big of an issue, but it still leaves me a tiny bit bothered. I would like to know why my game never saves my loadout, or the hotkeys, I make, that I slap down on my hotbar. The loadout stays till I log off the character, but if I just zone, the hotkeys disappear, and I have to remake them. Any tips to prevent this? I have asked around in game, and I seem to be the only one, with this problem. So I am not sure what to do really. I have installed the game a total of 3 times, and everytime, been very careful to follow the instructions given, on the home page. But if I must reinstall it, on camera, I will. No problem. Just noting this, as a time saver. Little update. Also discovered, that it does not save the keys I edit either. I just logged in on my character, and found that D made me duck, rather than turn right. (I use WASD to move generally) Also does not save when I tell it to hide helms. Only thing it really saves, is my spells, what I wear, and for some reason, the Autosplit option.

![]() Are you installing on a Windows machine? Are you installing to the default Program Files directory?
Some people find there are issues with user permissions and saving the files appropriately when it gets installed the Program Files directory. Try reinstalling into a root folder such as C:\Project1999 folder instead. Once you patch this folder and make the shortcut be sure to copy the entire folder to a flash drive or back up drive for super easy reinstall. No need to use the ISO/discs, just copy the folder and make the short cut in the future. Also allows you to take it on a flash drive and play from any computer.

![]() Couple ideas:
So you /Q or /sit, /camp, close out? Not ocnfirmed, but felt I used to have problem is I didn't properly camp. Is the game installed under say C:\Program Files\ ? Often need Administrator access to write to that path. Can try Run-as-Administrator, or even just move the entire folder to say c:\Games\EverQuest

![]() I've had this problem across all OS and in all folders. If you don't camp out properly AKA crashing on camp or /q or /exit it will not save your UI.
i mainly have this problem with my Windows 8 machine. A good work around for this is to make your UI on a different machine that can exit the game properly and then just copy those files to the other machine.
