Default New DE SK, reporting in.

I played very casually back in the day, but I've mostly forgotten it all. Does anyone have any tips for areas to level, gear to look out for, or a good way to find groups?

Thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I think the two areas I would recommend leveling in would be any starting area around the EC starting area (Neriak, FP, RV) or Cabilis. Both of those areas are quite active with players and have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Cabilis:

pros - great XP leveling areas, plenty of players, curscale armor quest that provides great xp and some noobie armor for some classes, lots and lots of bone chips for pet or to sell.

cons - very far from everything else and a PITA to get back to at lower levels for training or whatever if you decide to venture to the old world, not as easy to buy/sell items being so far from EC. Iksar are hated everywhere so banking/selling/training in the old world is challenging to say the least

EC area:

pros - lots of leveling areas (XP not as good as FoB/Kurn's IMO), deathfist belt and derv ring turn ins for great XP and coin, EC tunnel is right there to buy and more importantly sell to build up plat (bone chips, silks, pelts), convenient to lots of different areas that branch off from EC including various boats, WC/EC is usually an easy place to find ports and buffs.

cons - camps can be crowded and not always easy to find a group, xp gain isn't as good as kurn's but belt/ring turn in can make up the difference if you focus on orcs/dervs.

I'm probably missing some pros and cons but you get the idea. Either of those areas should have enough activity to find groups in. If you are looking for a leveling guild or potential groups as you level feel free to contact me in game. We have 30+ people all below level 35.

Thanks for the tips! I've just been selling my spider's silk, pelts, and I was saving my bone chips for when I get a skele pet. I'm guessing I should auction those instead?

I'll have to look up the turn-in quests.

I'd definitely be interesting in a guild/group. I have a sporadic schedule for when I can play, so I was holding off on joining any kind of guild, but if that's understood and fine, then I'd love to have some people to play with [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah I'd say group in the common lands for a bit.
at early to mid teens go to oasis.
At 21 go to mistmoore or unrest to level.
At 30 try lower guk if the previous zones don't work well for you.
40- 50 do lower guk, sol b, or dread lands .
51 + has a bunch of options for dungeons.

Tip #1 --- Play on Red for the bonus XP and less people.
Tip #2 --- SK is rough for a first character. Gear dependent, meh solo artist.

Don't play red for xp bonus reasons, only go there if you enjoy pvp. Otherwise play blue

Yeah because there's so much PvP on red. /sarcasm

Dudes will zone and pull the power cord on their PC before they will engage in a fair fight 99% of the time.

Red has a good community, with helpful people, and way less congested at camps, raids, and XP spots. Oh, and there's a big XP bonus. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I rolled on blue. I don't care much about leveling quickly.

As far as being useless at late levels, I'm sorry to hear that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] But... I'm committed now. And I like the class, so... maybe a 2nd character later ;p
