Default Fresh Server?

I'm not complaining or begging for new server.

But I only found everquest recently. I never played it cause the blonde ponytail girl on the game art repelled me. And I had no idea everquest was this type game, very grindy, hard, kinda like vanilla wow. So I've found there are items that don't exist anymore that I missed out on that was removed with expansions, and the general community is all at end game. So it does interest me playing on a new clean server from the first expansion going through the game with everyone as they progressed.

So is there any likelihood of a new server or server wipe ever? I just want to know what the developers/owners opinions are.

I'd say it's time, but they'll certainly want to finish the current Velious timeline before anything else happens.

They won't wipe it, but if a second blue server ever hits...expect a long long LONG line for manastones, guises, etc.

At the same time it might actually kill a couple of people IRL who have hoarded virtual currency for up to 7 years.

And also, how well documented have you developers made of game updates so you'd be able to easily implement them again if you did start a fresh server with no expansions?

meh not a reason to start a new server, this ain't easy going wow/vanilla wow gaming. There are plenty of leveling pugs around. Server ain't dead... far from it.

Maybe you should direct your questions at the community in general if you are unable to use search for already answered questions from server staff.

ug you make me facepalm. apparently im unaware of the 1000+ players who get on the server. apparently i think the server is dead. apparently vanilla wow is easy going, thus a new server is out of the question. apparently experiencing the game fresh is equivalent to leveling with some pugs.

No I didn't find a definitive answer using search.
I'm asking EVER? i don't expect a new server soon.

Well it's there. Also mentions on streams about it from them that I've heard. But you only want devs/owners opinions posted here, and I'm not one so heh.

But the answer you're waiting on probably wont come until they launch green whenever that is, then they might mention it directly again regarding the other things they talked about.
Apparently.

I'd mention whats been said, but who knows they might fill your special request and post your answer here ...but I doubt it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

A fresh server would make for completely different gameplay imo. It would be MUCH harder to level without being able to buy gear. I remember first starting out on EQ release in 1999 and being so happy when I managed to get 1 piece of banded. The game has gotten a lot easier with a saturated market of high-end items. Starting fresh would cut everything back to the stone age where people are trying to level half-naked using rusty weapons. I think it would be fun to go back to hardcore mode...

I didn't know about the original P1999 release until several years afterwards, so I too feel like I missed out on the "hardcore" EQ classic experience. While I would love to do it I worry about what releasing another server would do to the blue population. I think the server population is pretty healthy where it's at averaging around 1k players and I don't think I'd want to risk further fragmenting that with a fresh server.

People would continue playing on both simultaneously, plus the green server would dump back into blue at end of timeline anyway
