dxdiag says its got 9c on it. do i need a certain version, i forget?

I moved the folder from my existing pc, a pentium4, to the laptop.

might try turning sound off, just assumed it was the graphics causing the crashing `eq has encountered a problem and needs to shutdown` after server select screen.

AM trying to avoid installing eq from cd onto the laptop, if possible )
