dirk of the dain for decl of war? faction?

I searched some old threads, most were out dated, and any non p99 info was out of date. Do you still need ally faction to Dain(not coldain) to turn dirk in and get declaration of war? or is there a minimum faction that will work fine? I read in some threads people tried as warmly and it was eaten but I think that was during a bugged patch from months ago.

Just trying to figure out how I can go about turning in my dirk before I start getting back tormax faction and ruining Dain faction ie if I need to wait til higher faction(amiable atm) the coldain ring wiki doesn't have any info on faction required for turn in, but threads suggested it has a part to play. Don't want to lose it.

ok, wasn't sure if they ever fixed that. Cause I remember them and declarations being eaten by non ally people when we did some ring wars.

just did the turn in, got dirk back, no dec. turned it in again a min later, dirk back, no declaration? has something changed

Read the quest again. You have to say a quest trigger to get the declaration. The Dirk is just a flag.

When someone else hands in their dirk, you can get a declaration of war. Just say the magic phrase.

just kill dragons for tormax / giant faction and keep your dwarf faction.

im max ally with dain and got the decleration last week and typed what was written on wiki. not certain if lower faction will get it for you then but i do know the quest is functional with ally.
