Hi all!
The recent news of Everquest Next being cancelled put the EQ bug back into my brain. I played a rogue primarily during the Velious/Luclin era (Bristlebane - Ishin Everdark of Circle of Legends and Club Fu), quit playing after Vex Thal sucked away my will to live. I would be happy to play a rogue again, but I'm concerned that a lack of gear or difficulty finding groups would be frustrating. My second choice would be shaman, third necromancer. I much prefer grouping over soloing regardless. Can anyone give me some insight that could help me make a choice? Thanks!

I've never played a rogue, but I have grouped them on many occasions. It seems like the standard leveling zones are always well-populated. Rogue should be fine! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
If you like it here, you'll probably play more than one class anyway!

Population depends on when you play, since US peak dominates. Peak time for a rogue should be no prob. Off hours you may want to find a regular group/guild, but still some pugs around.

I just started a new rogue the other night. I played one until his 40's back in the day and I really loved what the rogues could do and provide. They are really fun to me despite the lack of travel benefits.
The lack of armor at first is not a huge issue unless you are in a tremendous hurry to level up. I am never in a hurry in this game as there is so much to experience and enjoy. That said, save up bone chips, HQ bear and cat pelts and spiderling silks - sell them to players and you'll be able to outfit yourself in no time! Welcome and enjoy! My rogue is Threldan. Look me up anytime!
