Bot logic loop issues with trying to register

I have an issue with trying to get EQ1999 to play. I could not log in and a very kind soul named Smurflogic suggested that I had to get an EQEmu account and link it. When I went back in to my account, I realized I had stalled when it asked me to enter a code sent to my cell phone. I have no cell phone, only a home phone which does not take texts (being as I am an older person now.) SO, I tried to get an EQEmu account, but the message told me that I can't do that until I reply to the other window which is asking for the text which I cannot read and will never be able to receive.

So, I'm screwed, basically.

I *do* have a computer that I can receive emails on. Are there any kind GM's out there, perhaps who can help me? I sure would like to play again.

Ok! I finally managed to skip over the cell phone requirement by clicking on the left side of the screen to get my other registration done. =) Log in. After several unsuccessful attempts (the server select screen was empty with no servers showing,) I see the blue server and log in. The beautiful EQ music plays and in the character creation screen, I see this message:
"Your spells file is outdated. Please visit Project 1999 and get the latest files from the getting started post. ERRORCODE SP-1" I've already downloaded and installed the latest patch, but I download the velious files anyway. Return to character creation screen and I get the same message. Hm. I'm kind of stumped, but I'll browse through the posts and see if I can find an answer. Thanks for reading and trying to help =)

Download the spell file from the home page here, extract to whichever main folder you have p99 installed(default is probably C>program files>Everquest titanium). You will know you have done it correctly if you are prompted to overwrite existing files. The new files must overwrite the old or you will get the outdated spell file error at character select.
